It's a painting I found on a WITW Google search - exact connection to the book is unclear. However, as you are asking about Beaverton, yeah, there are lots of little creeks like that around, lots of wetlands. Lately I am hearing quite a few tree frogs croaking, so no doubt there are distant relatives of Toad nearby, too.
